| Kimibox Jewelry Website
Design Team: Nick Goodrum, Matthew Obrakta Project Summary: Kimibox Jewerly Company were looking to redesign their current website, which was built and hosted by Google. They saw their business growing rapidly with in the past 4 years since starting, first opening in Hong Kong and now having physical stores in Tokyo and Vancouver. However, they knew their online presence was lacking. To combat this they turned to professional photography and webdesign. This project presented unique chanelleges and offered experience which I couldn't find in my classes. First being it will be an e-commerce site, and the first one that I have had the oppurtunity to work on. Second, since the majority of Kimibox's customers are from China, the website needed to be translated into both Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. However, one of the more challenging aspects of this project has been communication and orginization. The four people contributing to this project live in four different areas. Though this has been an easier obsticle to overcome than originally thought, especially with the ease of communication and sharing of materials online. Also, it was fairly easy to apply the experience of working in teams that I have gained through the HCI/design program at Indiana University to this project. In the imagines to the right, you can see the initial wireframe sketches for the basic structure of the home page and the flow of the flash gallery. Next you can see how those sketches materialized to the current state of the website, which will be online soon. There are still a few elements to be added, such as the addition of secure shoping carts, however this is a nearly a finished product. This is also a good example of how people with different talents contribute to the sucess of a finished product. |
