Project Summary: Our concept is a touch-screen device that is fully integrate-able into the pre-existing customer loyalty card system and attaches to the handlebar of shopping carts[Figure 1], complemented with an shelf indicator.

While keeping local food the focus of the device, it provides customers with the advantage of searching the store directory and having the location of the item(s) displayed on the store map [Figure 2].

Since at the time of purchase is when advertising is the most effective. During our observation of various stores within Bloomington, we discovered that many stores have local products available within their stores, but those products do not have adequate or even comparable advertising to the other products.

The device delivers customized local food information and suggestion as well as assists the shopping experience, aiming at making shoppers more aware of local food choices and their benefits [Figure 3].
